Community
At our school, community engagement is at the heart of our values. We build strong connections with families and the wider community through shared projects such as gardening, local visits, and family learning workshops. We regularly welcome people of authority—such as Police Officers, Firefighters, and local leaders—into school to enrich children’s understanding of the world around them. Visits to our local Churches and other community spaces help deepen pupils’ sense of belonging, respect, and responsibility. Together, we create an inclusive and supportive environment where every child can grow, contribute, and thrive.
Some examples of our connections within our community:
- Liberty Church - volunteers from Liberty Church have helped with clearing our school grounds, providing new areas for our children to access and painting sheds and fences. Liberty Church hold a wellbeing lunchtime club once a week and regularly deliver assemblies.
- ICE Wales - Deliver weekly, child-friendly assemblies across both key stages.
- Risca Rugby & Cricket - Provide weekly PE sessions for children in Year 4.
- Missional Links Wales - Americans from Louisiana have visited our school - They deliver assemblies, workshops and sporting activities to share their lifestyle.
- Fire & Police - Deliver regular safety sessions across different year groups.
- Pop-up Coffee Mornings - We welcome parents once a term, to socialise with members of staff and other parents over a cup of coffee!
- MULTIPLY- We hold regular workshops with our families to enhance their catering skills.
