School Uniform

We are very proud of our school uniform at Ty Sign Primary and believe that it develops a sense of pride in being part of our school and local community. It is also important for our children to not feel any pressures to wear the latest fashion or expensive brand of trainers. Our uniform is very accessible – it can be purchased from local supermarkets and, although uniform with our school logo is available, these are not a requirement.

All items of clothing worn for school should be clearly labelled with the child’s name.

Should any parents have any difficulty providing their child with the correct form of dress, it is hoped they will contact the school who will deal with the matter in the strictest confidence.

Uniform is worn at Ty Sign to develop a sense of pride in being part of our school and the local community.

School Uniform

Grey trousers / grey shorts / grey skirt / grey pinafore dress

Sky blue polo shirt

Royal blue jumper / cardigan / hoodie

A warm coat and a lighter shower proof coat at times.

Sturdy footwear – strong shoes / trainers. In summer – grey shorts or blue and white gingham dress.

Advice for Nursery:

Grey elasticated trousers, skirt or jogging bottoms

A pair of wellington boots to leave in Nursery.

We also have our own Community Uniform Shop, where we sell (for a minimal price) nearly new, or even donate, secondhand uniforms, which have been outgrown / donated.

P.E. Uniform

Pupils should attend school in their PE kit on the day of their PE sessions, please refer to your child's class page for information regarding PE days and Outdoor Learning.

Recommended PE kit:

Blue/Black shorts  ∙ Plain T-shirt   ∙ Trainers

Bags – these should be of sensible size due to limited space in the cloakrooms.

Shoes – for health and safety reasons we discourage open-toed sandals or backless shoes.

Label – with the same uniform being worn by the pupils, please, label all your child’s clothing and equipment.

Jewellery

We would appreciate your support about jewellery; we recommend that children do not wear any.

Jewellery should be limited to one pair of stud earrings and a watch. Stud earrings must be removed for PE or covered (at home) by plasters. The school accepts no responsibility for any jewellery worn to school and lost.

Pupils will be asked to remove any additional jewellery worn to school for health and safety reasons.

Make up is not to be worn.
